Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is a regenerative treatment derived from your own blood. A small sample is drawn, processed in a centrifuge to concentrate the growth-factor-rich platelets, and then reintroduced into the treatment area via injection or microneedling.

IS IT RIGHT FOR YOU

Who it’s for

  • Adults who want a treatment made from their own blood: it is drawn, spun to concentrate the platelets, and injected back.
  • People comfortable with the evidence: the AAD says there is still little evidence to show that it works, or doesn't, because large studies aren't required.

What Is PRP?

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is a regenerative treatment derived from your own blood. A small sample is drawn, processed in a centrifuge to concentrate the growth-factor-rich platelets, and then reintroduced into the treatment area via injection or microneedling. These concentrated growth factors stimulate tissue repair, collagen production, and cellular regeneration.
At Afterglow, PRP is used for both hair restoration and facial rejuvenation — and is often combined with other treatments like Acorn stem cells, microneedling, or exosomes for enhanced results.

PRP Applications

PRP for Hair Restoration
PRP injected into the scalp stimulates dormant hair follicles, improves scalp circulation, and encourages natural hair regrowth. It’s particularly effective for patients in the early stages of hair loss and works well as a standalone treatment or combined with Acorn or hair restoration peptides.

PRP for Facial Rejuvenation When applied to the face via microneedling or injection, PRP stimulates collagen production, improves skin texture and tone, and accelerates healing. Often called the ‘Vampire Facial,’ PRP facial treatments deliver a natural glow and progressive skin improvement with minimal downtime.

What to Expect

During Treatment

A small blood draw is performed first. The PRP is prepared (approximately 15 minutes) then applied to the treatment area. Topical numbing is used for comfort. Sessions take 45–60 minutes total.

After Treatment

Mild redness and swelling for 24–48 hours is normal. For hair treatments, you’ll begin to see gradual improvement over 3–6 months with continued progress up to a year. Facial PRP results develop over 4–6 weeks.

Quick answers to questions you may have

How many sessions do I need?
For hair restoration, we typically recommend 3 initial sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart, followed by maintenance treatments every 6–12 months. For facial PRP, 1–3 sessions depending on goals.
Is PRP safe?
Yes – because PRP uses your own blood, there is no risk of allergic reaction or disease transmission. It has an excellent safety record across thousands of clinical applications.
