Microneedling, also called Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), is a minimally invasive treatment that uses fine, sterile needles to create thousands of microscopic channels in the skin. This triggers your body’s own healing response – producing fresh collagen and elastin for smoother, firmer, more even-toned skin.

At Afterglow, we perform every microneedling treatment with the SkinPen® – the first and only FDA-cleared microneedling device, made in the USA.

Microneedling is one of the most versatile treatments we offer – effective on the face, neck, and body, with minimal downtime and results that continue to improve for months after treatment.
Each SkinPen treatment uses a sterile, single-use cartridge with adjustable needle depths, customized to your skin’s needs by your provider.

What Can Microneedling Treat?

  • Acne scars
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Enlarged pores
  • Uneven skin texture and tone
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Stretch marks
  • Skin laxity - face, neck, and body

The SkinPen Difference

SkinPen® Microneedling

SkinPen is the gold standard in microneedling – the first device to earn FDA clearance for improving the appearance of facial acne scars and neck wrinkles. Its advanced technology eliminates the scratching and dragging common with other devices, creating hundreds to thousands of precise micro-channels per second for a smoother, more comfortable treatment and consistent results.

Add-On: Microneedling with Exosomes

Take your Microneedling results to the next level with Exosome Therapy. Applied immediately after treatment, exosomes help boost collagen production, enhance skin healing, reduce downtime, and improve skin tone, texture, and radiance. An excellent complement to Aerolase Neo Elite for advanced skin rejuvenation.

Add-On: Microneedling with PRP

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), derived from your own blood, can be applied during or after your SkinPen treatment to accelerate healing and amplify collagen production – often called the “Vampire Facial.”

What To Expect

During Treatment

Most SkinPen sessions take 30-60 minutes. A topical numbing cream is applied 20-30 minutes beforehand to ensure comfort throughout the treatment. A new, sterile single-use cartridge is opened for every patient.

After Treatment

Skin will appear flushed and feel similar to a mild sunburn for 24-48 hours. Mild swelling or pinpoint bleeding can occur. Avoid sun exposure, makeup, and strenuous exercise for 24 hours post-treatment.

How Many Sessions?

Initial improvement is visible within 2-4 weeks, with full results developing over 3-6 months as collagen continues to remodel. For most concerns, we recommend a series of 3-6 sessions spaced 3-6 weeks apart, with annual maintenance treatments to preserve results.

Quick answers to questions you may have

How many sessions will I need?

Most patients see meaningful improvement after a series of 3-6 sessions spaced 3-6 weeks apart, depending on the concern being treated. Your provider will recommend a personalized plan during consultation.

Is microneedling painful?

Most patients tolerate SkinPen treatments well thanks to topical numbing cream applied before treatment and SkinPen’s smooth, precise technology, which eliminates the scratching or dragging sensation common with other devices. You may feel mild pressure or vibration, but significant pain is uncommon.
