Aerolase Era Elite is a 755nm Alexandrite laser that specializes in skin resurfacing, anti-aging, and deep skin renewal. While the Neo Elite excels at active concerns like acne and redness, the Era Elite goes deeper — targeting the structural layers of the skin to improve texture, firmness, and pigmentation at a foundational level.

At Afterglow, the Era Elite powers our most advanced skin rejuvenation protocols including REVERSE anti-aging therapy and EraPeel resurfacing treatments.

What Can It Treat?

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Skin laxity and loss of firmness
  • Uneven texture and rough skin
  • Sun damage and age spots
  • Melasma and deep pigmentation
  • Acne scarring and post-inflammatory marks
  • Overall skin resurfacing and renewal

Era Elite Protocols at Afterglow :

EraPeel

A signature resurfacing treatment that gently exfoliates and renews the skin’s surface. Improves texture, tone, and radiance with minimal downtime — a significant step up from traditional chemical peels.

REVERSE Skin Therapy

Afterglow’s comprehensive anti-aging laser protocol using the Era Elite. Targets fine lines, laxity, pigmentation, and overall skin quality in a series of treatments designed to visibly reverse the signs of aging.

What To Expect

During Treatment

Sessions range from 30–60 minutes. The Era Elite delivers precise energy with a cooling mechanism for comfort. You may feel warmth and mild tingling.

After Treatment

Some redness and mild peeling are normal, particularly with resurfacing protocols – typically resolves in 3 – 5 days. Sunscreen and gentle skincare are essential post-treatment.

How Many Sessions?

A series of 3–6 treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart is typically recommended. Your provider will create a customized plan based on your skin concerns and goals.

Quick answers to questions you may have

What's the difference between the Era and Neo Elite?
The Neo Elite (1064nm) is best for active acne, redness, and vascular concerns with zero downtime. The Era Elite (755nm) delivers deeper resurfacing and anti-aging results with a bit more recovery. Many patients use both for comprehensive skin health.

SAFETY

Safety information

Read this before your treatment, and tell your provider about any condition or medicine it mentions.

Contact us if you notice blistering, oozing, spreading redness or signs of infection after a treatment.

Who should not have it

  • Pregnancy, an active skin infection, or certain medications: the AAD says skin-tightening procedures aren't right in these cases, and some medicines make skin more sensitive to laser light.
  • A recent tan or sunless tanner: skip both before treatment.
  • Tell your provider first if you scar easily, have ever had a keloid, get cold sores or genital herpes, have taken isotretinoin, or take any medicine, including aspirin.
  • Breastfeeding, as well as pregnancy: studies of this laser leave out both.
  • Lupus or another condition that makes skin sensitive to light, or a medicine that does: a hospital trial of the Neo Elite lists these as reasons not to treat.
  • Sunburn in the area to be treated.
  • Tell your provider first if you have epilepsy: studies of this kind of laser leave it out.

Common side effects

  • Redness, swelling and discomfort, usually gone in 1 to 3 days.
  • Occasional bruising for a few days.
  • During a course of acne treatment, acne can flare for a while and skin can feel dry. These were the most common effects in a 225-patient study of the Neo Elite.
  • On psoriasis patches, crusting, sometimes with small spots of blood.
  • After the Era Elite, a resurfacing laser: redness for a few days to a week while the skin heals.

Serious risks

  • Blistering and burns.
  • Cold sore outbreaks and infection.
  • Lightening or darkening of the skin, and scarring, which can be permanent. Darker skin is more prone to burns and dark marks.
