Women’s BHRT in Corte Madera & Los Gatos

Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) uses hormones that are molecularly identical to those naturally produced by the body — estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone — to restore hormonal balance in women experiencing perimenopause, menopause, or hormonal deficiency at any age.

Unlike synthetic hormones, bioidentical hormones are designed to work with your body’s receptor system the way your natural hormones do. At Afterglow, every Women’s BHRT protocol is individualized — starting with comprehensive hormone

Who Is Women's BHRT For?

  • Women in perimenopause or menopause experiencing symptoms
  • Women with hormonal imbalances affecting quality of life at any age
  • Patients whose symptoms haven’t resolved with conventional approaches
  • Women interested in proactive hormonal optimization for longevity

Symptoms BHRT Can Address

  • Hot flashes and night sweats
  • Sleep disturbances and insomnia
  • Fatigue and low energy
  • Mood changes, anxiety, or depression
  • Brain fog and difficulty concentrating
  • Low libido and vaginal dryness
  • Weight gain and changes in body composition
  • Bone density loss

How It Works

  • Step 1 — Comprehensive Testing
We run a full hormone panel — estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, thyroid, cortisol, and other relevant markers — to get a clear picture of where your hormones stand.
  • Step 2 — Provider Consultation
Your provider reviews your lab results alongside your symptoms, health history, and goals to design a personalized protocol.
  • Step 3 — Treatment
BHRT can be delivered through several methods including topical creams, sublingual drops, or injections — depending on the hormones involved and your preference. We’ll walk you through the options.
  • Step 4 — Monitoring & Adjustment
Hormone levels are retested at regular intervals and protocols adjusted to ensure you’re in an optimal range and feeling your best.
have a question?

Quick answers to questions you may have

Is BHRT safe?
BHRT has a strong safety profile when properly prescribed and monitored. The key is individualization — starting with the right testing, using appropriate doses, and monitoring regularly. We do not use a one-size-fits-all approach.
How is BHRT different from traditional HRT?
Traditional HRT often uses synthetic hormones that don’t perfectly match your body’s natural hormones. Bioidentical hormones are structurally identical to what your body produces, which many patients and providers find leads to better symptom relief and tolerability.
How long before I feel results?
Many women notice improvements in energy, sleep, and mood within 4–6 weeks. Full hormonal optimization and symptom resolution typically develops over 3–6 months as your protocol is fine-tuned.
Can I do BHRT alongside other Afterglow services?
Absolutely — and we encourage it. Women’s BHRT pairs beautifully with our aesthetic services, peptide therapies, and IV therapy for a comprehensive approach to looking and feeling your best at every age.

FDA approval and off-label use

Compounded “bioidentical” hormones are not reviewed or approved by the FDA for safety, quality or effectiveness (National Academies, 2020). The global consensus on testosterone for women does not recommend compounded testosterone where an approved product is available, or any preparation, including pellets and injections, that raises testosterone above the normal female range.
