Concierge medicine is a model of primary care in which a patient pays a membership fee – typically annual or monthly – in exchange for enhanced access to a dedicated physician. Unlike traditional primary care, where physicians manage panels of 1,500 – 2,500 patients, concierge physicians limit their practice size significantly.

IS IT RIGHT FOR YOU

Who it’s for

  • People who want primary and preventive care with direct access to their physician, longer appointments and same-day or next-day visits.
  • Patients of all ages, from children through adults: Dr. Potter's own practice.

What is Concierge Medicine?

Concierge medicine is a model of primary care in which a patient pays a membership fee – typically annual or monthly – in exchange for enhanced access to a dedicated physician. Unlike traditional primary care, where physicians manage panels of 1,500 – 2,500 patients, concierge physicians limit their practice size significantly. This allows for longer appointments, same-day availability, and a level of continuity that is difficult to achieve in a standard practice.

At Afterglow, our concierge program is led by Dr. Michael Potter and is integrated with our clinical wellness team – giving members access to primary care, hormone therapy, peptide therapy, and aesthetic services in one coordinated practice.

How it works

Membership structure: Members pay an annual or monthly retainer that covers Dr. Potter’s availability and the services included in their membership. This fee is separate from insurance and is not typically covered by health plans, though HSA and FSA funds may apply.

What the retainer covers: Direct access to Dr. Potter via phone and text, same-day or next-day appointment availability, a comprehensive annual physical and bloodwork review, specialist coordination, and proactive health management throughout the year.

What it does not replace: Concierge medicine is a care model, not an insurance plan. Members remain responsible for costs billed through their insurance — specialist visits, imaging, hospitalizations, and labs outside the scope of Dr. Potter’s direct care.

Appointment format: Appointments are longer than a standard office visit. They can take place in-office, via telehealth, or depending on circumstances, at your home or workplace.

have a question?

Quick answers to questions you may have

Is the membership fee covered by insurance?

The retainer fee is not covered by most insurance plans. However, individual services rendered during appointments may still be billed to insurance depending on the service and your plan. Many members use HSA or FSA funds to cover the retainer. We recommend checking with your insurance provider.

Do I still need health insurance?

Yes. Concierge medicine is a primary care model, not a replacement for coverage. You will still need insurance for specialist visits, hospitalizations, imaging, and services outside Dr. Potter’s direct scope.

Is membership limited?

Yes. Concierge practices intentionally limit panel size to ensure availability and quality of care. We recommend inquiring early if you are interested.

Can I add hormone or peptide therapy after joining?

Yes. Members can upgrade their tier at any time. All clinical services require a consultation and medical assessment before a new protocol is initiated.

What is included in the annual physical?

Your annual physical includes a comprehensive health history review, a full physical exam, and a tailored bloodwork panel. Depending on your tier and health goals, this may include standard metabolic markers, hormone levels, cardiovascular risk factors, and other biomarkers relevant to your age and history.

Note : Membership is limited. To learn more or schedule a complimentary discovery call with Dr. Potter, contact Afterglow directly or visit afterglowmed.com.
