TRT in Corte Madera & Los Gatos

Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) is a medically supervised treatment that restores testosterone levels in men experiencing low T — whether due to age-related decline, clinical deficiency, or both. At Afterglow, TRT is administered alongside Gonadorelin to support the body’s natural hormonal axis, preserve testicular function, and optimize long-term results.

IS IT RIGHT FOR YOU

Who it’s for

  • Men with low testosterone confirmed by blood tests and symptoms of deficiency. Testosterone cypionate is FDA-approved to replace testosterone in men whose testes, or the pituitary signals that drive them, don't produce enough.
  • Men willing to have regular blood work. The label calls for periodic checks of hemoglobin and hematocrit, and of blood pressure.

Every patient starts with comprehensive labs and a consultation with Dr. Solomon to design a protocol built around your biology and goals.

have a question?

Quick answers to questions you may have

How long until I feel results?
Most men notice improvements in energy, mood, and libido within 3–6 weeks. Body composition changes develop over 3–6 months.
Will TRT shut down my natural testosterone?
Exogenous testosterone can suppress natural production — which is why we pair it with Gonadorelin to preserve testicular function throughout treatment.
Do you treat women's hormones?
Yes — Afterglow also offers Women’s BHRT. See the Women’s Health page for details.

SAFETY

Safety information

Read this before your treatment, and tell your provider about any condition or medicine it mentions.

Get medical help right away for pain, swelling, warmth or redness in a leg, sudden shortness of breath, or an erection that won't go away.

Who should not have it

  • Men with breast cancer, or with known or suspected prostate cancer.
  • People with serious heart, liver or kidney disease.
  • People with uncontrolled high blood pressure: the label says testosterone is not recommended.
  • Anyone allergic to the drug.
  • Women who are pregnant.

Common side effects

  • Acne, oily skin, and changes in hair growth.
  • Breast enlargement (gynecomastia).
  • Fluid retention: ankle swelling.
  • Higher cholesterol.
  • Lower sperm count with long-term use or high doses, which matters if you plan to have children.
  • Urinary blockage in men with an enlarged prostate.

Serious risks

  • Too many red blood cells (polycythemia), which is why the label calls for regular blood tests.
  • Blood clots in the legs or lungs (DVT, pulmonary embolism) have been reported with testosterone products.
  • Raised blood pressure, which can increase cardiovascular risk over time.
  • Heart attack and stroke: studies have been inconclusive, and some, but not all, have reported an increased risk.
  • Misuse at high doses can cause serious heart and psychiatric effects.

FDA approval and off-label use

Testosterone's FDA label states that its safety and effectiveness for “age-related” (late-onset) low testosterone have not been established. It is approved for men whose low testosterone has a medical cause in the testes or the pituitary.
